May 12

This was a beautiful weekend, which meant lots of tag sales.  I got an Anne Taylor sleeveless sweater for $1!  Since I had to work till noon, I missed a lot of the early morning goodies, but still made out well in the afternoon.
My mother is my tag sale partner and did some tag saling in the morning.  She found a scrapbook for $1, brand new and never opened.  She also found a lot of cladaggh things for me.  There was a basket with  $1.22 in pennies inside it as well as a picture frame.  The claddagh is an Irish symbol that shows a crown, hands and a heart representing loyalty, friendship and love.  She also got a brand new journal for me.
The most prevalent thing you will find at tag sales, which makes the best bargain are candles.  I get all my candles (tapers, votives and tea lights) at the tag sales in the summer.  I got a whole box of tapers for $3.  There were about 30 in the box, so I'm set for a while.

I'll post pictures of the cladaggh stuff soon.

Happy Shopping,

Zandra

The ultimate in tag sales

I'm making the announcement now that the Nutmeg Festival in Ridgefield is taking place on Aug. 11, 2012.  This is an old fashioned church fair that has an entire room filled with donated items for sale. Ridgefield, CT is a very wealthy area, so the quality of the items are amazing.  That has never disappointed.  I've gotten jewelry, books, games, antiques and designer stuff. Who wants to come?
